Do you have a story to share?

With over 2.66 million square kilometres (give or take), we cannot be everywhere capturing every story.  If you have a story that you think others would be interested in then we would love to hear from you.

Before you submit an article, take a look at our Contributor Info sheet.  It breaks down the questions you need to ask yourself before going to the effort of writing your version of War and Peace.

Before we will agree to purchase content, we would need to review the piece.


Everyone loves reading about somewhere new to visit and explore.  It doesn’t matter if it is somewhere we have already covered as long as you can put a different perspective on it that may appeal.  There are several ways that you can write about a destination.

  • Experience – talk about your adventure going to this place and how it made you feel.  These types of articles work really well with good, visually appealing images to help transport the reader to that spot, putting them in your shoes.
  • Technical – this is more a factual piece.  With this type of article, you need to include as much detail as possible with regards to how, where, when, why, who etc.  Don’t worry if you can’t supply a map, as long as we have an idea of where you have been, our clever graphic designer can create one.


Hearing about the latest gadgets and gizmos is always popular.  Have you purchased something and want to share your experiences about it? Your experience with a product may assist someone with their own purchase choice.

DIY Modifications

Have you made some modifications to your vehicle (they need to be legal) or “improved” your camper/caravan setup. These types of articles can be very popular.  You need to ensure that you have good images of what you are trying to tell the reader about and the more specific you can be about the process you followed the better.

4WD Clubs are the backbone of the 4WD community.  They offer a safe place to learn how to best use your 4WD, an inclusive community of like-minded people who all love getting out and exploring and the motivation to get involved with club organised trips.

Club Focus

Tell us about your club.  Every quarter we feature a local 4WD club or group to our readers.  This is a great opportunity to market who you are and what you offer to members.  Some things to think about would be:

  • How long has the club been running?
  • Where do you meet?
  • How often are meetings?
  • What does it cost to be a member?
  • What are the benefits of being a member?
  • Where can I get more information?

Trip Reports

These go hand in hand with out Club Focus articles.  Remember when writing one who your audience is.  Avoid using uncommon terminology or referencing people by name (ie only your club members will know who Franky is and why it was hilarious that he got bogged in that puddle).

Concentrate on the journey and the shared benefits experienced by the participants.

Advertising content is important for any publication as it makes its production economically viable. There is a range of advertising placement options available:

  • Double Page Spread (DPS) – these can be located in premium placement positions within the magazine such as inside the front or back over, or located somewhere else within the mag.
  • Full Page (FP) – again, location can be anywhere, with the option for premium placement on the outside back cover (OBC), inside front cover (IFC) or elsewhere.
  • Half Page (HP) – available for placement anywhere within the magazine, except for premium placement locations.
  • Quarter Page (QP) – the same as half page.

The advertorial is either an article supplied by you or written by us.  It can be an effective alternative to placing a standard advert as the content has a greater chance of engaging with the reader who will more than likely retain that information longer.

Perth 4WD and Aventure Show

We are a regular at the Perth 4WD Show.  Not only do we have our range of printed materials available for sale, we also put together a vehicle display showcasing what you can do with your vehicle to get it ready for remote touring adventures.

The Fourby Forum Live Stage

As part of the 4WD Show, we operate the Fourby Forum, which is one of the oldest 4WD live stage presentations in Australia.  This year’s Fourby Forum is going to be a little different as we present a “real-time build” of a 4WD touring vehicle.  Our Trade to Track will run across the 3 days of the 2022 Perth 4WD and Adventure Show, culminating with someone getting to own the vehicle at the end.
