Perth Boat Show returns to drop anchor at Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre

The Perth Boat Show makes a return this September, taking over the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre from Friday, September 4, to Sunday, September 6. 

Spread across all six pavilions at the PCEC, this year’s show will bring together more than 90 exhibitors and over 150 craft spread throughout the venue, from family-friendly trailer boats to high-performance watercraft. 

Boats on display alone are valued at more than $40 million, with the total value on show including engines, accessories, navigation aids, angling gear, recreation products and safety equipment expected to reach around $50 million.

Headlining the fleet is the Bluegame BG54, a striking Italian-built 16.57m motor yacht and this year’s feature boat, valued at over $2 million.

Across the show, visitors can catch live demonstrations and essential Sea Safe sessions at the Boat Shed Stage, designed to build skills and boost confidence on the water, while presenter Pete Curulli brings the show floor to life in “Perth is OK! On Deck with Pete”, chatting with exhibitors and showcasing standout new products from across the marine industry.

Highlights include late-night Friday trading, with discounted entry from 3:30pm for just $12.50, along with a Door Prize draw for a Floatables prize pack valued at $4,129, including a water bouncer, two inflatable SUP boards, a 20L TPU soft cooler bag and a three-way pump.

Other drawcards across the three-day show include Little Nipper’s Cove, where there are free kids’ activities from 10am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday. There will also be a Father’s Day outing on Sunday, September 6, across all six pavilions, with a weekend warrior prize pack up for grabs and freebies for early-bird dads.

Bloom festival springs to life in the Great Southern

Bloom Festival returns to the Great Southern region this spring, celebrating ‘everything that blooms’ from Saturday, September 12, to Sunday, October 11.

As the Great Southern Treasures’ signature event, Bloom Festival delivers vibrant experiences for visitors from across Australia to enjoy the cultural and natural offerings of the region during spring.

The festival will house events and activities including exhibitions, arts, crafts, displays, creative workshops, food events, fauna and flora-themed activities, markets, Noongar cultural events, wine and dine events, open gardens, live music, family fun days, movie nights, guided flower walks, heritage trails, tours and hikes, including through the Porongurup and Stirling Ranges.

The festival spans the entire Great Southern region, from Kojonup out to Pingrup, down to Bremer Bay on the coast, and across to the Porongurup and Frankland River, taking in major centres such as Katanning, the Stirling Range and Fitzgerald River National Parks, and everything in between.

York Motor Show revs up for 2026 return

Riding into town for its fifteenth year, the Wheels in the Wheatbelt York Motor Show will hit Peace Park and Avon Terrace in York on Sunday, August 30.

Displaying all things motoring, including classic and vintage cars, tractors, trucks, and motorbikes in addition to a wide range of shops, entertainment and food venues; the free, all-ages, pet friendly event is run by a small group of residents alongside local support amongst the Avon Valley town’s historic buildings.

Mountain Country Music Muster returns to the Stirling Ranges

Mountain Country Music Muster returns to the Stirling Ranges this year, taking over Mt Trio Bush Camp & Caravan Park from Thursday, October 29, to Sunday, November 1.

The event, hosted by locals John and Margot Byrne, has secured a stellar lineup of Australian icons as well as some of the country’s best up-and-coming performers, including James Blundell, Paul Costa, Briar Blundell, Amberley Maryellen, Connie Kis Andersen and more.

The all-Australian lineup is set to perform on the Country Music Stage, while the dance floor is once again ready for barn dancers and line dancers.

This year’s muster will kick off with a movie night so guests can settle in before a three-day stint of live music, markets, wine tastings, food trucks, camping and more.

Tickets will entitle guests to three days of camping at Mt Trio Bush Camp & Caravan Park, plus amenities including toilets, showers, a camp kitchen and drinking water.

Celebrate wildflowers, creativity and community as Outback Bloom returns

Celebrate wildflowers, creativity, culture and community in the heart of Wildflower Country as Mullewa’s annual four-day wildflower festival, Outback Bloom, returns to Mullewa Town Hall from Thursday, August 27, to Sunday, August 30.

Held annually during peak wildflower season, the festival showcases the extraordinary biodiversity of the Mullewa region through a diverse program of guided walks, expert talks, workshops, cultural experiences and family-friendly activities.

Outback Bloom will officially open at the Mullewa Town Hall on Thursday, August 27, with visitors able to explore the renowned Wildflower Show and Bushland Diorama, featuring hundreds of locally collected wildflower specimens labelled with their scientific and common names and immersive displays.

Daily guided wildflower and bush trail walks along the Mullewa Bushland Trail and Wildflower Walk will provide visitors with opportunities to discover local flora in its natural environment, while informative presentations from wildflower experts, photographers, historians, and community members will offer unique insights into the region’s ecology, heritage and attractions.

A festival highlight includes Inside Wildflower Country with Glenda and Murray Blythe, which takes place in the Marquee at different times across the three days. The two-hour session will feature insider mud maps to the best wildflower locations, the latest information on current blooming hotspots, and tips on how to uncover the hidden floral treasures of the Mid West.

Bush Tucker Journey with Wendy Merry will also take place in the Marquee on Thursday, August 27, and invites visitors to learn about the history and traditions of the Southern Yamatji People.

Visitors can also enjoy wildflower painting and photography workshops, native seed card making and heritage talks exploring the legacy of Monsignor John Hawes.

Outback Bloom also provides an important platform for community participation and volunteering, fostering local pride while attracting visitors from across Western Australia and beyond.

Shinju Matsuri festival returns to celebrate Broome’s vibrant culture

The annual Shinju Matsuri festival is set to return to Broome for 2026, taking over the Kimberley town with a series of vibrant cultural celebrations and events from Friday, August 21, to Sunday, September 6.

The 17-day celebration is set to highlight Broome’s unique multicultural and pearling history, with the festival’s events showcasing the fusion of flavours, sounds, and colours that define the region.

Shinju Matsuri kicks off with an Opening Ceremony at the Shinju Matsuri Festival Hub at Town Beach on Friday, August 21. The event will feature special speeches, performances and the traditional Waking of Sammy the Dragon.

The Shinju Matsuri Opening Ball is also set to return to Shinju Matsuri Festival Hub at Town Beach on Saturday, August 22, with a rock’n’roll theme, featuring performances from Bevan Sidebottom and the Smooth Tones.

Attendees can look forward to the Floating Lanterns Matsuri, which takes over Gantheaume Beach on Sunday, August 30. Inspired by the Japanese Obon celebration, this ceremony honours loved ones with lanterns drifting on the waters.

The crowd-favourite Chinatown Feast will hit Broome’s historic Chinatown for a night of food, culture and celebration on Friday, August 28. Inspired by Asian hawker markets with a Kimberley twist, the event will also feature live music and roaming performers.

For 2026, Shinju Matsuri will also celebrate the sounds of Latin groove, with Sand ‘n Sounds – LUZ Y GROOVE taking over Cable Beach on Friday, September 4. On the night, attendees can expect to hear a vibrant mix of Afro, Latin and tribal beats, with drinks on arrival and a selection of canapes available.

Renowned as one of the most exclusive dining tables in WA, the Sunset Long Table Dinner will return to Cable Beach on Saturday, September 5, featuring an exclusive drinks selection and a menu inspired by Broome’s rich cultural tapestry, with entertainment by local musicians.

The 2026 program also includes a Float Parade, dance performances at the Carnival of Nations, and a Festival Finale and Drone Show at Town Beach on Sunday, September 6, as well as art exhibitions, sunrise pilates, all-ages events and more.

Shinju Matsuri, which is Japanese for ‘Festival of the Pearl’, has been a celebrated fixture of Western Australia’s regional events calendar since its inception in 1970. The festival originated from three cultural festivals—the Japanese Obon Matsuri, the Chinese Hang Seng, and the Malaysian Hari Merdeka, which celebrates Independence Day from British rule in 1957.

Taste Great Southern locked in for another year

The Taste Great Southern festival is set to return across Albany, Denmark, Mount Barker, Porongurup, Frankland River and surrounding communities from Thursday, March 4, to Sunday, March 7, 2027.

Bringing the region’s acclaimed wines, premium produce and beautiful landscapes to centre stage, the four-day event will showcase an exciting range of culinary experiences from local businesses, producers, wineries, tourism operators and hospitality venues.

Returning in the 2027 program are Tides of Taste at Maitraya Private Retreat, a coastal feast celebrating land and sea featuring a new lineup of homegrown and visiting chefs; and the Taste Market at Middleton Beach with a family-friendly event showcasing local produce with local wine producers and chef pop-ups, sommelier-hosted masterclasses and more.

“Taste Great Southern has become one of Western Australia’s most distinctive regional food and wine festivals because it offers something truly authentic,” said Festival Director Erin Molloy. “It brings together world-class chefs, winemakers, producers and storytellers in a way that could only happen in the Great Southern.”

Busselton Caravan and Camping Show returns for 2026

The South West’s biggest caravan and camping showcase, The Busselton Caravan and Camping Show, is set to return for 2026, taking over Churchill Park on Saturday, September 19 and Sunday, September 20.

The Busselton Caravan and Camping Show will offer attendees the best of caravans, campers, trailers, and accessories in one place, with expert advice, hands-on exhibits and inspiration for campers’ next adventures.

Across the two-day event, attendees can expect to see over 75 businesses and suppliers in the industry, as well as interactive demonstrations and educational talks.

Legendary Land Cruisers take centre stage as 40 Series Classic Weekend returns

After a successful 2025 event, the Toyota Land Cruiser Club of WA is set to host its annual 40 Series Classic Weekend once again, paying tribute to one of the most iconic 4WD vehicles—the 40 Series Land Cruiser.

The 40 Series Classic Weekend will return to the Old Coast Road Brewery, at Myalup, on Saturday, October 24, and is set to attract restorers, enthusiasts, adventurers, and classic cruiser lovers from all over the South West.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their 40 Series Land Cruiser to the event, where they can walk among a display of vintage 4WDs, with handcrafted brew options and local food on offer in a relaxed, family-friendly setting.

To celebrate the legacy of the Toyota 40 Series, this year the Toyota Land Cruiser Club of WA has partnered with ARB as the headline sponsor and with Shannons Insurance and City Toyota as supporting sponsors to strengthen prize offerings.

Prizes will be handed out for Best Original Restoration, with the ARB prize package to the value of $1,400.00; Best Modified Restoration, with the Shannons Insurance prize of $1,000.00; and People’s Choice, with a City Toyota prize to the value of $600.00.

Woodstock Dash to ‘push drivers and rigs to the limit’ in Kellerberrin

The Woodstock Off-Road Challenge returns in 2026, bringing an action-packed weekend of off-road 4WD and comp-truck events to Kellerberrin.

Taking place Live At The Hayshed from Friday, July 17, to Sunday, July 19, the event features intense racing, camping, and entertainment, drawing 4WD enthusiasts and spectators from across Western Australia.

This year comes the introduction of the Woodstock Dash, featuring three classes and six brutal tracks with winch walls and tank traps set to ‘push both rigs and drivers to the limit’.

Competitors will take on the ultimate lap, tackling every challenge back-to-back. Rigs will be sent one by one with staggered starts, racing to complete the course in the fastest time possible—with recovery crews ready and waiting.

Camping is available on-site with guests welcome to bring their own fire pits, food, and drinks—however, the site is entirely glass-free and pet-free.
