Toodyay Agricultural Show brings big country fun to the Wheatbelt

The Toodyay Agricultural Show is set to return to the Toodyay Showground on Saturday, October 10.

The annual event, presented by The Toodyay Agricultural Society, puts agriculture, local producers, exhibitors and businesses in the spotlight and often draws crowds of more than 4,000 from across the Avon Valley region and Perth metropolitan area.

Agricultural displays will feature a wide range of farm animals, including alpacas, cattle, goats, hatchlings, horses, poultry and sheep, along with working dog demonstrations and other farm-focused activities.

The show’s local exhibitions will celebrate the skills and creativity of the region, with displays of needlework, weaving, home produce, fruit and vegetables, apiculture, floriculture, arts, hobby crafts, photography, woodwork and more.

Horse enthusiasts can head to the Equestrian Ring for hacking, breeds, show-jumping and novelty events, while The Equestrian Pleasure Show will offer a more relaxed environment for beginners, nervous riders and horses new to the show world, with classes for open horses and riders.

Beyond the agricultural displays, Sideshow Alley will bring rides, showbags and activities, while market stalls will offer everything from machinery, hardware, plants and produce to clothing, crafts, art, jewellery, leather goods and wine.

There will also be plenty to keep families entertained throughout the day, with free entertainment including blacksmithing, BMX, buskers, dancing, face painting, laser tag, live music, magicians, puppetry, rides, roving performers, trucks, vintage vehicles and more.

The Terrace Bar will be open alongside coffee and food vans, offering food and drinks throughout the day, with a fireworks display set to bring the show to a spectacular close.
